Brow Lift
What does it try to accomplish?
Smoothes forehead wrinkles and frown lines and lifts the eyebrows to a more youthful position.
How is it done?
Incision across the top of the head from ear to ear behind the hairline and the forehead skin is lifted upwards. The muscles producing the frown lines are weakened.
How long does the operation take?
About 1 hour.
How long is the stay in the clinic?
1 night.
What type of stitches are used?
Large silk stitches in the scalp.
How long are they left in?
2 weeks.
What type of dressing is used?
Padded bandage.
How long is it left on?
1 day.
Is there any bruising?
Usually slight.
Is there any swelling?
Usually slight.
What pain will there be?
Slight. Often feels tight for a few days.
Where are the scars and how bad are they?
In the scalp behind the hairline. The hairline will be moved backwards to some extent. This operation is not suitable for men where receding hair will show the scar.
How long does it take to recover?
2 weeks.
When is the final result seen?
1 or 2 months.
How long does it last?
Frown lines above the nose can sometimes recur quickly, but it has a lasting effect on the transverse forehead lines.
Common Complications
